DESCRIPTION:Brought to you by Gateway Health Professional Development & Com
munity Event "Amazing\, powerful\, connecting\, brave. Thank you from the
bottom of my heart. You can change the world." - audience member What happ
ens when we truly listen to people with lived experience of mental health
challenges? Join Listening to Voices Theatre \, a creative project of Gate
way Health as they celebrate 10 years of powerful storytelling\, connectio
n and change through a moving live performance that challenges the way we
think about mental health\, hearing voices and the people behind the diagn
osis. Drawing on the real experiences of people who have navigated mental
health systems\, the performance offers audiences an honest\, human and of
ten unexpected perspective on what it means to live with mental health cha
llenges — and what can happen when people are heard\, respected and give
n a genuine voice. Following the performance\, you'll have the opportunity
to hear the impact Listening to Voices has had over the last decade\, par
ticularly in offering a very different kind of learning in classrooms and
organisations. This is an opportunity for people working across health\, m
ental health\, social services\, education and community\, as well as anyo
ne interested in creating more compassionate and responsive mental health
systems\, to reflect on what meaningful change can look like in practice.\
